In the largest public analysis of Israeli military strike footage, Airwars reviewed hundreds of clips the IDF posted to its official social media in the first month of the Gaza war, claiming to target Hamas and other militant groups. Despite the grainy, largely unlabelled footage, researchers matched 17 strikes to precise geolocated coordinates — sites where more than 400 civilians were reported killed. The 20-minute investigative film uses open-source techniques to connect the military’s own “precision strike” footage to the human cost on the ground. I contributed a 3D reconstruction of the Al Sousi mosque, one of the sites featured in the investigation.
